3 Signs That You Need an Alternator Repair

Alternator Repair in Mt Orab, OH - Mt. Orab Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Your vehicle's alternator is the center of your car's electrical charging system. It converts the mechanical power of the turning crankshaft into electrical power for your car's systems. Although your alternator has a fairly long life, it will eventually show signs of wear, and you'll need an alternator repair. As your trusted local CDJR dealer in Mt. Orab, OH, we'd like you to know some of the signs that your alternator is failing.

Damaged Stator

As your crankshaft turns, it causes the alternator belt to run across several different pulleys. Each of these pulleys is attached to a specific component, and the movement of the belt causes the component to work. The movement of the pulley spins the alternator, and as it spins, it produces electricity. The electricity it produces is transmitted to the various electrical components in your car.

The power generated is AC, and your car's electrical systems all require DC to work. The stator is a small part of your alternator that converts AC to DC before the power is transmitted. If the stator fails, your alternator will continue to generate power, but this power is wasted, and your electrical system will fail. We can replace the stator, and your electrical system will function normally again.

Dim then Bright Lights

One sign of possible alternator damage is headlights varying their luminescence. Your headlights should have a steady and stable beam. If, however, the lights start dim and then become too bright, this can mean that your alternator is starting to fail. A good alternator can easily supply all of the power to meet your car's electrical demands.

As your alternator begins wearing out, it gradually produces less power until it eventually fails. When the alternator can no longer supply all of your car's electrical demands, the available power is allocated on a priority basis. Dim lights mean that your headlights are being supplied with just enough power to work, and they become brighter when more power is made available.

Warning Light

Your dash has a battery-sharped warning light which represents your car's electrical system. The light is connected to various sensors attached to the battery, alternator, and other parts of the electrical system. Each of these sensors monitors the component it's attached to for any signs of problems. If a problem is detected, a message is sent to your car's computer, and the warning light will light up.

A worn alternator can trigger this light when its output drops below a preset level. A healthy alternator produces 14.5 volts, and under a full load, it shouldn't drop below 13 volts. If the sensor attached to the alternator detects a sustained output of fewer than 13 volts, this is a sign of a potential problem. Our technicians will test your alternator, and we will replace it if it's failing.

If you have any problems with your alternator, request a service appointment with Mt. Orab Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram as soon as you can.

Fall Road Trips Around Cincinnati Are Better in a Jeep Grand Cherokee L

There is something about fall that makes you want to pack up the family and go somewhere. Maybe it is the cooler weather. Maybe it is the changing leaves throughout Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Or maybe it is simply the fact that after a long, hot summer, everyone is ready to get outside and enjoy the season. Working in automotive marketing, I spend a lot of time thinking about the reasons people choose a particular vehicle. Of course, things like technology, capability, comfort and space all matter. But sometimes, the best way to picture yourself in a vehicle is to think about what happens after you leave the dealership. For a family, that might mean a weekend road trip. A day exploring Cincinnati. A trip to a local coffee shop. A stop at a bookstore. A scenic drive with nowhere specific to be. For adventures like those, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is hard to overlook. With three rows of seating, impressive capability, modern technology and the comfort families want for longer drives, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is built for both everyday life and the adventures that make memories along the way. And fall in the Greater Cincinnati area gives you plenty of reasons to get behind the wheel. Start Your Fall Adventure Close to Home One of the best things about living in the Cincinnati area is that you do not have to travel far to find something worth exploring. A fall road trip does not always mean taking an entire week off or driving across several states. Sometimes, it simply means loading up the Jeep Grand Cherokee L on a Saturday morning and heading toward somewhere you have not visited in a while. Start with a jacket. Bring the family. Make sure everyone has a good playlist. And leave plenty of room for snacks. Fortunately,  the Jeep Grand Cherokee L has plenty of room for all of that. With three rows of seating, the Grand Cherokee L gives families the space they need for passengers while still offering the versatility expected from a full-size SUV. Whether you are bringing the kids, meeting up with friends or planning a longer weekend trip, extra space can make a big difference. Especially when everyone has to bring something. First Stop: Coffee in Cincinnati Every good road trip should start with coffee. Once you make your way into Cincinnati, there are plenty of local coffee shops that make it worth slowing down before continuing the adventure. Over-the-Rhine is one of my favorite areas to explore during the fall. The historic buildings, local businesses and walkable streets make it easy to spend a few hours wandering around without following much of a schedule. For a stop that combines coffee with another fall favorite, visit Iris Book Cafe. Part coffee shop and part bookstore, Iris Book Cafe offers the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Browse the shelves, order a warm drink and take a break before getting back on the road. Fall and bookstores just seem to belong together. There is something about cooler weather that makes everyone want to find a new book, order a coffee and spend a little more time indoors. Of course, if you are traveling with the family, the bookstore might mean everyone leaves with something different. That is where the Jeep Grand Cherokee L comes in handy. There is plenty of room for passengers, bags, shopping and all of the things that somehow accumulate during a family road trip. Why the Jeep Grand Cherokee L Is Built for Family Adventures The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is more than just a larger SUV. It gives families the flexibility to handle everyday responsibilities while still being ready when the weekend calls for something different. Three rows of seating make it easier to bring everyone along. Available technology helps keep the drive connected. Comfortable seating makes longer trips more enjoyable. And Jeep capability means you can confidently explore beyond the typical city streets. That versatility is one of the reasons the Grand Cherokee L is such a great fit for life in Ohio. During the week, it can handle school drop-offs, grocery runs and the daily commute. When the weekend arrives, it can become your road trip vehicle. Pack up for a fall festival. Head toward the country. Take the family hiking. Explore Cincinnati. Or simply get in the vehicle and decide where to go along the way. That is what makes owning an SUV like the Jeep Grand Cherokee L so enjoyable. You are not limited to one type of adventure. Add a Bookstore to the Itinerary If your family enjoys books, Cincinnati offers plenty of places to browse. A bookstore is one of those stops that can work for everyone. Someone can find a new novel. The kids can pick out something for themselves. Someone else can find a cookbook. And somehow, everyone walks out carrying more than they planned. For a larger bookstore experience, Joseph-Beth Booksellers is a great destination for an afternoon. The bookstore offers an extensive selection for readers of all ages and provides plenty of opportunities to spend time browsing. It is also the type of destination where you can easily turn a quick stop into part of the day's adventure. One of the benefits of having a three-row SUV is flexibility. You can bring the whole family. You can bring friends. And you still have the versatility to pack for the day. Whether your cargo includes backpacks, jackets, shopping bags or a stack of new books, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is designed to give drivers and families the room they need. Take the Scenic Route This is where I would encourage you to forget about the fastest route home. Fall is one of the best times of year to take the scenic drive. Ohio has no shortage of beautiful roads, especially as the leaves begin changing colors. Instead of immediately getting back on the interstate, find a different route. Drive through a small town. Look for a local farm market. Stop somewhere for a family photo. Find a park you have never visited. The best part of a road trip is often the part you did not plan. That is another reason the Jeep Grand Cherokee L makes sense for this kind of adventure. It gives you the confidence to go beyond your normal routine. Jeep vehicles have always been associated with adventure, and the Grand Cherokee L brings that adventurous spirit together with the space and comfort modern families want. You can enjoy the drive without feeling like you have to sacrifice practicality. Cross the River and Keep Exploring One of my favorite things about the Cincinnati area is how quickly the scenery can change. Cross the Ohio River and you can continue your adventure in Northern Kentucky. The views of the Cincinnati skyline from across the river are worth the trip on their own, especially during the fall. Covington is a great place to explore, and if your road trip has followed a coffee and bookstore theme, there is another stop worth adding to the list. Roebling Books & Coffee offers a combination that feels perfectly suited for a fall afternoon. Browse the bookstore. Order a coffee. Sit for a while. Or grab your drink and continue exploring the neighborhood. By now, your road trip might have turned into a full day. That is okay. The best weekends usually do. Make Room for the Whole Family As someone who works around vehicles every day, I know that families often have a very practical checklist when shopping for an SUV. How many people can it carry? Is there enough room? Will it be comfortable on longer trips? Does it have the technology we want? Can it handle our everyday routine? The Jeep Grand Cherokee L answers a lot of those questions. But beyond the features and specifications, there is another reason to consider a three-row SUV. It gives you more opportunities to bring people with you. More family trips. More carpools. More weekends away. More memories. Sometimes having extra room means the grandparents can come along. Sometimes it means the kids can bring a friend. Sometimes it simply means everyone has a little more space. And after spending a few hours on the road, everyone appreciates that. Fall Is the Perfect Time to Find Your Next Jeep There is never a bad time to explore what a new vehicle can offer, but fall is a particularly great season for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The weather is perfect for road trips. The holidays are right around the corner. Family gatherings and weekend plans are filling up the calendar. And having the right vehicle can make all of those plans a little easier. Right now, there is even more reason to take a closer look at a new Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Eligible new Jeep Grand Cherokee L models are available with up to $10,000 off MSRP or qualified buyers may have the opportunity to take advantage of 0% financing for 36 months. That gives drivers and families two great ways to make their next SUV more affordable. Whether you are looking for the flexibility of a three-row SUV, the capability that comes with the Jeep name or the comfort and technology you want for everyday driving, now is a great time to explore your options. Your Next Adventure Starts at Our CDJR Dealership At our CDJR dealership, we know a vehicle is more than transportation. It becomes part of your family's story. It takes you to work. To school. To the grocery store. To family gatherings. And sometimes, it takes you somewhere completely unexpected on a Saturday afternoon. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is built for all of those moments. With three rows of seating, impressive versatility, modern features and legendary Jeep capability, it is an SUV designed for families who want to do more. This fall, take advantage of everything the Cincinnati area has to offer. Find a new coffee shop. Visit a local bookstore. Take the scenic route. Bring the entire family. And leave plenty of room for whatever the day brings. Then, when you are ready to find your next SUV, stop by our CDJR dealership and experience the Jeep Grand Cherokee L for yourself. With up to $10,000 off select new Jeep Grand Cherokee L models or 0% financing for 36 months, there may never be a better time to start your next adventure. Because the best road trips are not always about how far you go. They are about who comes with you.

The journey is a reminder of how close Cincinnati is to some of the Midwest's best outdoor destinations. The 2026 Jeep Cherokee is well suited to this kind of trip because it combines a comfortable SUV interior with the efficiency of its turbo hybrid powertrain. Jeep says the Cherokee's hybrid system does not require plugging in; regenerative braking helps generate electricity for the system while you drive.  That means there's no need to plan your trip around charging stations. How La Salle High School Students Explored the Future of Automotive Careers with the Mark Williams Auto Group

Career exploration is one of the most valuable experiences a student can have before graduating high school. It provides a chance to look beyond textbooks and classrooms and see real opportunities waiting in the world ahead. When the Mark Williams Auto Group visited La Salle High School for Career Day, the morning became an eye-opening journey into an industry that continues to grow in innovation and possibility. Josh Williams, General Manager of Queen City Ford, and Charlie Watson, Marketing Director for Mark Williams Auto Group, led discussions that introduced students to the many roles and career paths within the automotive field. What followed was a series of conversations that blended business, technology, problem solving, and creativity. Students often come into Career Day expecting a simple overview of different jobs, yet this event offered something far more interactive. Josh and Charlie organized four separate round table sessions. The smaller group format encouraged genuine conversation and allowed students to engage with the content rather than simply observe it. Many were surprised to learn how complex dealership operations truly are. Josh began by breaking down the two primary sides of a dealership. Fixed operations cover service and parts, while variable operations focus on sales and inventory. Together, these departments form the backbone of a dealership’s daily workflow. The students gained a new appreciation for the level of coordination involved in guiding a customer from their first inquiry to their final purchase or service appointment. Josh explained how technicians, service advisors, sales consultants, detail teams, inventory specialists, and managers work as one system. A customer might only interact with a few employees during a visit, but dozens of individuals may contribute behind the scenes to ensure that the customer leaves satisfied and confident. This realization helped students understand that every role in a dealership matters and that teamwork is essential to success. Charlie brought the conversation into the world of modern marketing. Students were fascinated by the idea that marketing within the automotive field has transformed significantly over the past decade. Gone are the days when dealerships relied solely on newspaper listings or television commercials. Today the focus is on digital presence, community connection, and storytelling. Charlie described how video content, online advertising, influencer collaboration, and social media engagement have become powerful tools for reaching buyers. He shared examples of short form vehicle videos, customer testimonial features, event promotions, and digital campaigns that help connect the dealership with the surrounding community. The students quickly realized how creative the marketing side of automotive can be. It requires strong communication skills, an understanding of trends, and the ability to capture attention in a digital world filled with endless content. Charlie emphasized that marketing is not simply about showcasing vehicles. It is about building trust, demonstrating value, and showing the personality behind the dealership. Students who enjoy video editing, photography, writing, social media, or graphic design discovered that these interests could translate into real opportunities within the automotive world. Throughout the morning, the discussion naturally shifted into the topic of education and career decisions. Many students feel pressure to choose a single path after high school, often without fully understanding their options. Josh encouraged students to consider the benefits of skilled trades. He explained that technicians are in high demand and that the profession offers strong earning potential, job security, and opportunities for growth. Students were surprised to learn how advanced modern automotive technology has become, particularly with the rise of hybrid and electric vehicles. Technicians now work with computer systems, diagnostic tools, and complex electrical components, making the role both technical and intellectually challenging. Charlie provided insight into careers that require a college degree, such as marketing, management, finance, and leadership roles within a dealership. He reminded students that there is no single definition of success. Some people thrive in hands on environments, while others prefer strategic or creative work. Every student has unique strengths and interests, and understanding those qualities is the first step in choosing a fulfilling path. This honest and balanced conversation helped students feel supported rather than pressured, which is a rare gift in an era where young people often face overwhelming expectations about their future. One of the highlights of the session was the question-and-answer period in each group. Students asked thoughtful questions about advancement, work environments, training programs, and salary growth. They wanted to know what daily life looks like for technicians, managers, and marketing professionals. Both Josh and Charlie emphasized that the automotive industry values dedication, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Many successful employees begin their careers with little experience and grow through mentorship and consistent effort. Students appreciated the reassurance that they do not need to have everything figured out immediately to begin building a meaningful career. By the end of the event, the students held a much deeper understanding of how dealerships operate and how many opportunities exist within the field. Perhaps even more importantly, they walked away with a sense of confidence that their futures can be shaped in many ways. The automotive industry continues to evolve with advancements in service technology, online retail systems, customer engagement tools, and electric vehicle development. This evolution creates new roles, new challenges, and new opportunities for young people who are adaptable, creative, and eager to learn. Mark Williams Auto Group believes strongly in building relationships within the community. Taking part in La Salle High School’s Career Day is only one part of their broader mission to support students, families, and local organizations across the region. By giving students, the chance to speak directly with industry professionals, the group hopes to inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators, technicians, and creators. These career conversations help students see the possibilities that lie ahead, not just in automotive but in any field where they can use their strengths to contribute in meaningful ways. As the event came to an end, Josh and Charlie left students with one final message. Every career begins with curiosity. Every goal begins with a willingness to explore. The path to success looks different for each person, and there is tremendous value in discovering what motivates you and what kind of work gives you a sense of purpose. Whether a student dreams of developing new marketing strategies, repairing advanced vehicle systems, solving customer concerns, or leading a team, the automotive industry has a place for them. Career Day at La Salle High School offered a glimpse into that future, and the excitement it sparked among the students was the true success of the visit.
